1. Spanish Flan

Ingredients

  • Egg: 6
  • Evaporated Milk: 1-can
  • Condensed Milk: 1-can
  • Vanilla Extract: 1-spoon
  • Water: as required
  • White Sugar: as required

Instructions

  • With 1-spoon of water, you have to dissolve the sugar. To get caramel, boil it. Then, prepare a pie dish and pour the caramel into it.
  • Combine the evaporated milk, condensed milk, vanilla extract, and sugar. Whisk and make a smooth mass.
  • Pour the mixture over the caramel. To make a perfect flan, cover it with aluminum foil.
  • For about 45 minutes, bake it in the preheated oven.
  • Refrigerate it for at least 2 hours.
  • Now this flan is ready to serve

2. Turron

Turron is one of the famous dishes of Spain. It is so delicious that you can’t escape it from your special food list. You can make this yummy food at your home very easily. Let’s see the recipe at a glance-

Ingredients

  • Sugar: 1 ¼-cups
  • Water: 2-tablespoons
  • Honey: 1/3-cup
  • Salt: 1/8-teaspoon
  • Egg White: 1-large (room temperature)
  • Lemon Zest: ½-teaspoon (finely grated)
  • Marcona Almonds: ¾-cup (very coarsely chopped)
  • Wafer Paper: 2-sheets (8- by 8 -inches trimmed)
  • Nonstick Cooking Spray

Instructions   

  • Take one heavy-duty foil sheet and an 8- 8-inch baking pan. Now line the baking pan with a foil sheet (lengthwise). Then, to create a sling, line the pan crosswise. With spray, coat the sides lightly.
  • In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine honey, sugar, and water. Stir it with a wooden spoon until sugar dissolves completely (for 7-10 minutes) over medium heat. Boil the syrup until the thermometer records 250F for 2-3 minutes, then to medium-high, increase the heat.
  • For about 2 minutes, on medium speed, whip the egg white with salt until it turns soft and smooth.
  • Add hot syrup in a slow and steady stream to egg white with a mixer. Until it makes thick and glossy, beat the mixture for about 10 minutes. Next, add and beat lemon zest to combine it with the mixture.  
  • Now, with a cooking spray, coat the rubber spatula lightly.
  • Stir in almonds
  • Prepare a pan. Now, place a rimmed sheet of parchment paper or rice paper in this pan. Into the pan, scrape turron mixture. With a spatula, whisk the mixture in an even layer. Use parchment paper or rice paper (2nd sheet) for topping. Next, to compress and flatten, with a flat-bottomed ½ cup measure, press it down lightly. 
  • To make a perfect turron, let stand it at room temperature for about 1-2 hours until set. Now, with a sling, transfer turron to a cutting board.  
  • After removing the sling and discarding the turron, first, you can cut it into 8-pieces; then, you can serve them with a nice decoration.

3. Spanish Almond Cookies (Polvorones) 

These cookies are also called Polvorones, which are very popular among Spaniards. It is a common dessert item that enhances the beauty of the dining table on Christmas. If anyone has not eaten this cookie before, they can undoubtedly try this dessert for sure.

Ingredients 

  • Almonds: ¾-cup (raw)
  • Flour: 1 ½- cup
  • Sugar: ¾-cup
  • Margarine: 4-ounces
  • Cinnamon: 2/3-teaspoon 

Instructions

  • For about 10 minutes, in a separate baking pan, toast the almonds and flour.
  • After baking the flour and almonds, make almond flour. For this, you have to put the almonds in the food processor.
  • Prepare a bowl. You need to mix sugar, margarine, and cinnamon with the almond and flour.
  • Now, you have to flatten the mixture. You can use a rolling pin for this purpose.
  • Make even circles from the dough by using a cup.
  • For about 20 minutes, you need to bake the cookies

  • Shrimps: 1-pound
  • Smoked Paprika: 1-teaspoon
  • Garlic: 5 to 6-cloves
  • Lemon Juice: ¼-cup
  • Butter: ¼-cup (unsalted)
  • Olive Oil: ¼-cup
  • Pepper and Salt: as required

Instructions

  • In a pan, sauté olive oil, butter, minced garlic, and pepper for about a minute over medium heat.
  • Add paprika, lemon juice, and shrimp. For another few minutes, sauté them also.
  • Season it after shrimps are done.
  • Your shrimps are ready. Now you can serve it, with crusty bread.

5. Spanish Tetilla Cheese Puffs

  • Flour: 2/3-cup

  • Manchego Cheese: ¼-cup

Instructions

  • Prepare a mixing bowl. Combine the flour, salt, paprika, and baking powder and mix these ingredients in the bowl.
  • Beat the tortilla cheese, manchego cheese, egg whites, and egg yolks in another bowl with the previous flour mixture.
  • For about 20 minutes, refrigerate the mixture.
  • Make rolls with the mixture (which you have refrigerated earlier)
