How to Make Matcha Tea Taste Good: Matcha tea produces a slightly different flavor than other green teas. Various spices containing flavors, trace vitamins, and phytonutrients can improve your daily matcha taste and overall wellness. By mixing Matcha tea with natural ingredients like- turmeric root, fresh ginger lemon or lime zest, cardamom, coriander, and orange peel, you can create your personalized tea blends. Because mixing these options with matcha powder aids your tea to gain an exciting, new and delicious taste.
However, if you don’t have fresh spices on hand, a powdered version may help you adjust the taste of matcha tea. However, this is dependent upon several variables, including the quality of matcha tea leaves or their powder. Consider your personal preferences, matcha green tea quality, and savory flavor while choosing spices for tea. Yet, citrusy and sweet spices usually accompany matcha tea well.

Enjoy your day with the following 3-matcha tea recipes. These teas are not only just flavorful but also healthy too.
1. Matcha Tea with Powder: Usucha (Thin Matcha Tea)
Unlike other teas, Matcha tea powder contains nutrients from the entire tea leaf, providing higher caffeine and antioxidants than green tea. Here is a recipe of matcha tea with powder that is given below. This matcha tea is also known as Usucha.
Ingredients
- Hot Water: 2 ounces or 60 milliliters
- Matcha Powder: 1 ½-teaspoon
- Tools: bamboo whisk
Process
- Take a small bowl and add 2 grams or 1 ½ teaspoon matcha powder into it. Now you need to boil your water about 75 to 80 degrees C. Gradually add hot water into the bowl; this helps to obstruct the matcha tea from clumping.
- Whisk the tea with the bamboo whisk for about 15 seconds. (Do not use forks or metal tools, I recommend only a bamboo whisk to make this tea). If you want smooth tea, use a circular motion to whisk it, or for foamy tea, use a zigzag motion.
- Pour the tea into a teacup and serve.
2. Matcha Drink: Iced watermelon Matcha
This recipe contains two antioxidant-rich ingredients, namely matcha, and watermelon. We know watermelon has a high amount of antioxidant lycopene, vitamin C, potassium, and beta-carotene. This Matcha drink, high in lycopene, helps protect skin cells from sun damage and stay hydrated. As it’s a highly nutritious drink, it enhances heart health and promotes your overall health from the inside.
Ingredients
- Cold Water: ¾-cup
- Hot Water: ¼-cup
- Fresh Watermelon: 2-cups (cubed)
- Ice: as required
- Matcha: 2-teaspoons
- For serving: fresh mint, lemon slices, small watermelon wedges.
Process
- Make watermelon puree with a blender. Divide it 2 to 3 glasses with ice and keep it aside.
- Add matcha and hot water in a small bowl, whisk it until it becomes smooth.
- Now place the tea mixture with cold water and ice into a shaker or wide-water mouth bottle. Shake it well.
- Pour the matcha into the pureed watermelon glasses. Serve it immediately with some fresh mint, lemon, and watermelon wedges on the top.
