You can also provide them a steamed carrot, but don’t feed boil carrot to them. Boiling reduces the nutrition of all vegetables.

1.Onions

Therefore, both raw and cooked onions are harmful to your dog. Again, feeding onions can also cause a severe medical issue to your dog. So, avoid adding onion when cooking for them, do not even add onion powder.

2.Tomatoes

Raw tomatoes are not suitable for dogs. But you can feed them ripe tomatoes in a bit of amount or be added as an occasional snack. Providing too many tomatoes can be harmful to your dog’s body.

Tomatoes have two toxic elements, alpha tomatine and solanine. So I recommend not to add tomatoes to their diet plan. If you want to add this, then talk to your veterinarian first.

3.Garlic

Garlic is the most contaminated food as like onions for your Rottweiler dog. Feeding Garlic causes increase heart rate, damage to red blood cells, leading to anemia, gastrointestinal upset, weakness, diarrhea, anorexia, pale gums, dyspnea, collapse, vomiting, nausea, and drooling to your dog.

Always remember that you can’t give them even in a small amount of garlic. If your Rottweiler eats a small amount of garlic by mistake, then go to the veterinarian.

4.Raw Potato

Like tomatoes, raw potatoes contain solanine, so I recommend not to feed raw potato to your Rottweiler. Suppose you want to give them potatoes then please boiled or cooked them. Cooked potatoes have less solanine than raw potatoes.

If your dog has diabetic issues, then avoid feeding them. It may cause blood sugar spikes. It is avoided to give potato skin because it can cause kidney problems in your dog’s body.

5.Beet

Beet is not avoidable from your dog’s diet plan, but you have to feed them beet with proper caution. Feeding beet every day to your dog is not a good idea. Avoid feed canned beets to your dog as it contains a high amount of sodium that can create serious health problem in your dog’s body.

Beets also have an acidic side that can make upset stomachs. You can only feed them mashed or cooked beets with the meal.

How Much Should a Rottweiler Eat a Day?

The quantity of how much you should feed your Rottweiler in one day depends on their age. There is a difference between adult’s Rottweiler and puppies’ Rottweiler in their food habits. Adults eat more than puppies, Rottweiler. You can feed them also according to their weight.

Here is an example: If the Rottweiler puppies weigh between 3 to 10 pounds, you should give ¾ cup to ¾ cup of dry kibble. Again if a Rottweiler weighs are between 40 to 60 pounds, then you have to give 5- ¼ cups to 7 cups of dry kibbles per day. So it would be best if you calculated their weight to feed them properly. 

What Rottweilers Can Not Eat?

Numerous meals are safe for people but toxic to dogs. Here I have mentioned some Rottweiler vegetables, but along with that, there are some more foods that you should not feed to your Rottweiler. These are chocolate, raisins, grapes, alcohol, avocado, milk, liver, cabbage, raw eggs, macadamia nuts, coffee and tea, xylitol, nutmeg, lemon and limes, yeast dough, and bulbous plants.

Why Is My Rottweiler Not Eating?

Sometimes there occur some environmental changes that can be the reason your Rottweiler is not eating. In any case, like-having stress, nausea, internal obstruction, or dental problem also can be the reason for their not eating. Besides this, there is also some severe reason like- liver or kidney problems, cancer, and pyometra.
